Soft starters are static devices that gradually adjust the speed of three-phase induction motors with power capacities ranging from 2.2 to 1375 kW, while also offering protection.
The soft-start function enables an electric motor to start and stop gently by regulating the voltage delivered to it via changes in the triggering angle of the thyristor.
By adjusting the variables appropriately, the generated torque can be customized to align with the load requirements, thereby minimizing the starting current.
The SSW06 controls the voltage provided to the motor by regulating the firing angle of the thyristors, resulting in smooth starts and stops. The generated torque is tuned to the load required by carefully adjusting the variables, assuring the least beginning current.
The SSW06 soft-starters use a microprocessor, are completely digital, use cutting-edge technology, and are designed to provide the best performance at the start and stop of induction motors while being a total, low-cost solution. The operating interface also allows for simple parameter settings, which speeds both startup and operation. Furthermore, the built-in Pump Control function allows for effective pump control, preventing water hammer, and the torque control function allows for accelerations and decelerations via a linear speed ramp.
