Elecon was founded in 1951 by Late Shri Ishwarbhai B. Patel in Mumbai, India. It started out as a manufacturer of conveyor systems but soon became a leading name as the producer of engineering, material handling, power transmission, and condition monitoring systems. In 1963, Elecon started manufacturing power transmission equipment and set up a dedicated Gear Division in 1976. It soon turned into the largest gearbox manufacturer in Asia due to the unique modular designs of its gearboxes, case-hardened, and hi-tech ground gear technologies. Besides power transmission, Elecon is also the largest producer of bulk material handling equipment, including conveyors, excavators, rotary breakers, feeder breakers, sizer, and semi-mobile crushing systems in India.
Elecon’s gear products have achieved ISO 9001, IMS ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 certifications. To innovate its gearbox production capacity, Elecon built the
