SEW-EURODRIVE is a leader in the production of industrial gear units, motors, drives, and inverter technology. Founded in 1931 by Albert Obermoser, it revolutionized drive technology soon after producing its first gear motor. The custom production of gear motors by the brand, along with short delivery times, led to rapid progress, and by 1969, the company expanded and set up its assembly plants in Sweden, Italy, and England. Today, SEW-EURODRIVE has 17 production plants and 85 Drive Technology Centers worldwide. Its industrial gear units, automation technology, inverters, and electric motors are used across industries and various plants.

Gear Motor

SEW-EURODRIVE manufactures a variety of standard and variable-speed gear motors. It also develops gear motors for electrified monorail systems, agitators, and mixing plants. The motors are available in various designs with adjustable speeds and are suited for different application requirements.

Gear Units

The modular gear unit system of SEW-EURODRIVE is compatible with the brand’s motors and other components. It consists of standard gear units in different sizes, servo gear units, stainless steel gear units, and explosion-proof gear units. These units are compliant with all important regulations, like ATEX, IECEx, and HazLoc-NA.

Frequency Inverters

SEW-EURODRIVE’s frequency inverters control drive trains in different systems and machines. These inverters are of two types, current-controlled and voltage-controlled, and are designed to change the motor’s speed. AC Motors

The modular AC motors of SEW-EURODRIVE meet an efficiency class of up to IE4. The company’s Line Start Permanent Magnet or LSPM motor is an AC asynchronous motor with strong magnets in the rotor. It syncs with the operating frequency and runs synchronously without slip.
